Can I delete the video off of a memory card and then reuse it?
I recently bought a Toshiba Camileo H30 camcorder (http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Camileo-Camcorder-Silver-Black/dp/B003DZ122E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314140284&sr=8-1) and I am trying to decide what memory card to buy. My primary question is when the card is full can I delete the video and then reuse the card?
My other question was what kind of memory card should I get. I was thinking about getting either an 8GB or a 16GB memory card, which (if I’m correct) should give me a little more than an hour for an 8GB or about 2 hours for a 16 GB (at the full HD settings). If I can delete the video and reuse the card, then I would prefer to get the 8GB because I don’t need to film for any more than an hour at a time. Yes, cards are reusable. If the card is used properly any brand will do. I have used Kingston, Transcend and Sandisk without any problems. I am currently using a transcend 16 G class 6 card in my SD camcorder. I can record 3 1/2 hours. For video I would suggest a class 6 or 10 card.
When you get a new camcorder and card the first thing you should do is read the manual and then format the new card in the camcorder. After every download and back up you should format the card in the camcorder. This will keep your card fresh and save it from becoming corrupt.
