Do any of the Canon PowerShot SD Model Digital Cameras allow you to use the zoom feature while in video mode?

I really like the SD970 IS model but on the reviews I’ve read, many people have said that you can’t zoom while in video mode. I’d like to be able to use this feature, but than I thought maybe none of Canon’s digital camera’s allow for that.

What is the difference between telescope zoom and zoom lenses in reference to canon lense for rebel xti?

that’s what i meant telephoto zoom versus reg zoom. i assume the telephoto zoom is much better?

is there any advantage to getting two shorter range zoom lenses instead of one long range?

is there any advantage to getting an 18-55 and a 55-200 lens instead of just getting a 18-200 lens?
in the 18-200, are there any weaknesses caused by trying to squeeze in so much range? or is it all around a better deal to get the on lens.
