How does the Nikon D60 compare to the Canon EOS Rebel XS?

We are looking into a new camera, and my sister in law has the Canon EOS Rebel XS, and we love it. But the pricing is alittle high for the lenses and the camera. And the nikon is alittle cheaper, how do they compare?

Will the lens of an old nikon camera work on one of the new digital cameras?

I have a nikon 8008s camera with three lens for it. If I buy a new nikon digital camera will these lens work on the new camera?

Who makes better digital cameras Sony or Canon and why?

I’m looking for a new camera and I’ve always been a big fan of Sony products, my mom has a Canon Powershot and I had a Sony Cyber-shot T70 I think, both camera are nice. But I want your opinion.

Will all the nikon digital slr lenses work with all new cameras?

Carl Zeiss 1.7 50 lenses compatible???
