When taking outdoor macro photography, how can i prevent the flash from going off?

I took some macro shots of flowers today with an extension tube and the flash on my camera went off even though I was outside. How can I turn off the flash on my camera? I have a Canon EOS.

What is a good digital camera for macro photography?

I’ve developed an obsession with photography. lol.
I live for it!!
My camera is quite good…but I want to take my photography to the next level. What is a good digital camera for close up photography? I like taking pictures of close up objects especially nature…such as flowers or animals.
Any ideas.

I take photos of purple flowers but they turn out blue in the digital photos. What can I do to remedy this?

Flowers include irises and purple hyrdrangeas. Magenta flowers turn out a bright red in my digital photographs too. Do I need to change the camera setting or need to get some kind of filter? All the other colors in the digital photos come out fine.
