Whats a good camera? not an SLR but a step up from a point and shoot?

Please help me out! I Canons are a little out of my price range, i was looking at some Nikons. I dont want to spend more than about $250

You could try the Micro Four Thirds cameras with interchangeable lenses. They can be as expensive as SLR’s though.
I have a Lumix FZ40 that I bought for $300 and it is a very good Bridge Camera.

I guess it all depends on how much you know about setting your exposures if you want to get good photos.
