Device removal error on MacBook Pro?
I was viewing video files from my pocket camcorder on my MacBook, when the camera battery died, shutting off the device and interrupting the USB connection on the mac. It gave me the usual error message about first ejecting the device but I figured it would be alright. When I plugged in back in with a fresh battery, the video footage was corrupted, only giving me a black screen and white noise when I try to play it.
I could play the footage on the camera just fine and also play it just fine on my PC (though my graphics card can’t fully handle the HD video footage). I tried copying the video footage to a separate USB drive, then transferring the copied videos to the mac but they still are corrupted, but only on the mac!
Is there any hope for my video footage? How come it can play just fine on the camera (Kodak Zi8) and my PC but on the mac it won’t work?
Help!!!
Try restarting your mac if you haven’t done so already; if the file plays ok on the camera and on another computer then hopefully this will fix the problem.
