how to read camera film description?
I recently bought a film camera (Canon EOS Rebel Ti 35mm) and I need to buy a film every time I want to take picture. So I was browsing it and saw boxes of films. I was wondering if that only included 1 single film or is it like a dozen of it? Ex. Fujifilm 800 Speed 35mm Color Print Film or Fujifilm Fujicolor Superia 1600 Color Negative Film ISO 1600, 35mm, 36 Exposures how many film rolls would it have?
Freddy, you seem to be confused about what is going on and I hope I can help.
It does not sound like you’ve read a basic photography manual or are taking a photography class so you you don’t seem to understand the first thing about using film such as what ISO is. You seem to think that numbers such as 800 or 1600 represent number of rolls of film. But these numbers represent how sensitive the film is to light. Without knowing ISO, you cannot really effectively take photos, digital or film. So that is something you need to learn about.
Using the information you gave us, we cannot determine how many rolls of film are available in the boxes you’re looking at but both these types of film are typically only sold in single rolls or boxes of 3 or 4 rolls. The boxes tend to cost $8-$13 if I’m not mistaken and each roll, when sold by single rolls, costing approximately $4 or less. Each roll being long enough to take 36 photos on in this case.
Here is a basic 35mm manual, which you’ll need to purchase, or borrow another from the library, and read cover to cover in order to understand the basics of photography.

Good sources of film at competitive prices are Adorama.com and BHPhoto.com. Good cheap films to start out using are:
Kodak Gold 400 or Fuji Superia 400, both these film are less than $3 a roll at the vendors mentioned. Buy 20 rolls to off set the shipping cost and you’ll be spending less than you’d have to spend at a local store and you’ll have plenty of film for quite a while.
Good luck and feel free to email me with any film related questions!
