What is the step by step process to get the film out of the canister with a leader retriever?
My photo class is trying to get it out without taking off the top of the canister. We have a leader retriever and need a step by step, easy to understand way.
The retriever should have 2 “tongues.” Slide them both back into the retriever as far as they go. Then, stick both tongues into the film canister. Push the first tongue out all the way, into the canister. Turn the knob on the canister clockwise until you hear it click. Stop turning as soon as you hear it click. Then push the second tongue into the canister. Then slide both tongues back at the same time. This should pull the film leader out. If not, just try again…sometimes you gotta hold your tongue just right (pun intended
