It sounds as if you already have the beginnings of a Nikon system
Changing systems is ALWAYS expensive.
Have a look at the Nikon D90 and save your pennies a little longer, you will be much happier with it much more advanced features
With the eventual ability upgrade to a Nikon D3, choosing the NIkon may be the better system to choose
