Direction of cleaning of a AR15?
I have a Stag Arms AR15. It is a 16 inch barrel right handed ejector. I have seen many different cleaning videos on the care and feeding of the Rifle.
My specific question is this: Should I put the cleaning rod in the barrel first from the “Business” end or in from the Breech end? I have seen the rod inserted from the front and then the brush pulled through. I have also seen the brush pushed from the breach. Then using the same Direction to swab out the barrel and chamber.
You thoughts, suggestions?
whenever possible, from the breech, not from the muzzle. If you do put it in from the muzzle end, you need to purchase one of those cone shaped inserts that go over your cleaning rod, and fit just inside the muzzle. This protects the “crown” of the barrel, which is super important for accuracy.
